Let's talk about you.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Strategy, Marketing and Communications team.

In this role, you will develop and deliver strategic marketing and communication initiatives that increase community awareness and engagement with the City's projects, services, programs and events. You will create compelling content across a range of channels, develop marketing campaigns, coordinate corporate branding and collateral, and support the City's digital and social media presence.

You will also support the City's media communications, including drafting media releases, speeches, media responses, key messages and other communication materials that help protect and promote the City's reputation.

You are a strong communicator with exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy finding creative ways to connect communities with meaningful information.

Experience in local government, corporate communications or public relations environments will be highly regarded.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria when submitting your online application:

• Degree in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations or related discipline (please attach a copy to your application)

• Excellent proofreading, editing and copywriting skills

• Experience preparing media releases, speeches, media responses and other stakeholder communication materials

• High level experience in developing and implementing marketing and communication campaigns to drive community awareness

• Excellent knowledge of digital and social media platforms as communications and marketing tools

• Excellent experience in the development of corporate collateral and branding

• Sound knowledge of the graphic design and publication processes and document layout

• Strong computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop

We are offering a remuneration package from $94,367 to $101,357 per annum (pro-rata), depending on skills and experience. An information package, including the position description and our Employee Value Proposition, is available on our website.
