The opportunity As a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, you'll play a vital role in supporting families and children from birth through to school age. Working within Hobsons Bay City Council's Community Child Health Service, you'll provide health promotion, developmental monitoring, early intervention, parenting support, and referrals to help children and families thrive. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community wellbeing while working within a collaborative and supportive team. What you’ll do - Provide maternal and child health services to families with children from birth to school age.
- Contact families and arrange initial home visits and ongoing appointments.
- Assess child health and development, providing early intervention and referrals where needed.
- Support parents with health, wellbeing, parenting guidance, and child development advice.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the effective operation of Maternal and Child Health Centres.
What you need to succeed - Qualification in Division 1 Nursing, Midwifery, and Child & Family Health Nursing.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Experience delivering primary health services for children and families.
- Strong knowledge of child development and Maternal & Child Health programs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse families and stakeholders.
