The Role

As a Project Officer, you’ll support the planning, procurement and delivery of Council’s capital works projects, working with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

*This opportunity will be offered on a Permanent full-time basis 

Duties will include, but are not be limited to:

• Provide project management support to the City Delivery Team, ensuring projects are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered.
• Prepare tender and quotation documentation and support the procurement and engagement of external consultants and contractors in accordance with Council policies.
• Coordinate project stakeholders, including Council departments, external agencies, utilities, designers, suppliers and contractors, to ensure timely project delivery.
• Monitor and report on project performance, including cost, time, quality, risks, issues and successful project handover.
• Maintain project, program and portfolio schedules and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Council’s Project Management Methodology.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, communicating project status and negotiating objectives, deliverables, resources and constraints.
• Conduct site inspections and manage project issues, escalating significant matters, risks and incidents to Senior Management in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and Council procedures, including the Security of Payment Act, procurement requirements, project communications and consultation activities.

You will have:

• Degree Level qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or similar.
• Class C Drivers' License
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Minimum 2 year's experience in managing various aspects of a project/s with an emphasis on contracts management in etiher Local Government or private
• Demonstrated ability in the delivery of a variety of projects across construction disciplines e.g. Building, Roads or Parks construction.
• Understanding of the Securities of Payment Act and how to apply it.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to research emerging topics, deliver executive-level reports, and prepare detailed contract specifications.
• Well developed skills in the use of computer software, including full MS Office suite and other project managment systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver quality outcomes

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $108,644 (Grade H, Step 1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
