RESOURCE RECOVERY TEAM LEADER

Permanent Full-Time – 38 hours per week
The role:
Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader as our Resource Recovery Team Leader which plays a key leadership role in the delivery of our waste and resource recovery services.
This position offers a balanced mix of on-site operational leadership and office-based responsibilities. You will lead the daily operations of the Shire’s resource recovery facilities while also managing planning, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
As the Team Leader you be responsible for overseeing staff, coordinating site operations, and ensuring all activities are undertaken safely, effectively, and efficiently in accordance with relevant legislation, Council policies and procedures, and Environment Protection Authority (EPA) licence requirements.
What’s on offer:
- A salary range from $1322.30 – $1481.00 per week (based on relevant skills and experience) + 12% superannuation + allowances.
- A true 38 hour working week, Monday – Friday working week with the opportunity for overtime if desired.
- Fortnightly Rostered Day Off (working a 9-day fortnight).

What we need from you:
We are seeking a self-motivated, dedicated people-person with great communication skills, who is a champion for safety and takes pride in their work. If you enjoy leading teams, working both in the field and the office, and making a positive contribution to your community, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact.
You will need to have some previous experience in leading staff and/or contractors plus the ability to competently use a range of technology, equipment, software and computer systems to effectively undertake day-to-day work.
The following skills or experience will be considered highly desirable:
- Demonstrated previous experience working in and thorough knowledge of the operational requirements of a resource recovery facility.
- Previous experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field, this may include Frontline Management, Waste Management, Environmental Management etc.
- Previous experience and demonstrated ability to deliver quality customer service, contribute to service improvements and adapt to change.
