Blue Mountains Library is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Team Leader to lead a dedicated team in a dynamic and busy public library environment. You will bring experience in supervising, supporting and developing staff, coordinating day-to-day operations and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture. You will be agile, resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering quality customer service.
The successful applicant will work a job share arrangement of 56 hours per fortnight at Springwood Library with the following roster:
Sunday - 9:30am to 4:15pm (5.75 hours / 1 hour break)
Monday - 9:30am to 6:15pm (7.75 hours / 1 hour break)
Tuesday - 9:30am to 6:15pm (7.75 hours / 1 hour break)
Wednesday - 9:30am to 6:15pm (7.75 hours / 1 hour break)
We encourage applications even if this particular position, location or work pattern is not your preferred option. Suitable applicants may also be considered for other ongoing or temporary Team Leader opportunities that become available across the Library Service over the next 12 months.
The successful candidate will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in Library/Information Studies or associated field.
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public and effectively respond to the needs of the community in a customer-focused environment and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team with initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm, and high-level teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, making decisions promptly, in line with established procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to identify priorities, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience with library-based technology and library management systems, including the provision of public access technology, and the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve issues where required.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of and commitment to Work, Health and Safety systems and issues and a commitment to attend relevant training. Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity principles
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $85,842 (pro-rata) gross per annum
+ 12% superannuation
+ annual performance-based salary increases / bonus (1-3.5%)
+ annual award increase
