The Opportunity
The Treatment Operator is responsible for operating from within the Utilities
Department to provide safe Water and Wastewater supplies, the Treatment
Operator will assist the Utilities Supervisor in the coordination of Council’s
water and sewerage services in all communities throughout the area of
responsibility of the group.
This includes meeting the statutory requirements for performance, safety and
environmental management, and ensuring the customer service standards
are achieved to a high standard.About Yourself
A person in this position will need to hold a Construction White Card and it is
highly desirable for the person to be able to demonstrate equivalent related
experience.
It is also highly desirable for the person in this position to have other
qualifications such as mechanical, electrical or plumbing trades; and
backhoe, truck/MR and other related plant tickets and licences. You will also
require a current C class Drivers Licence.
(1) There is a requirement to be 'fit tested' for tight fitting respirators within
the first three (3) months of employment, and ability to maintain compliance
with 'fit-testing' standards to meet operational needs. This includes being
clean-shaven or having facial hair that does not interfere with fitting surfaces
and the respirator valve.

Salary Packaging Available
Restructure your salary to work for you to pay for everyday living expenses

Allowances such as Locality Allowance may be applicable to your position.
Leave Loading
You will receive 17.5% leave loading on top of your base rate of pay, while
you are on Annual Leave.
Additional Allowances
This position may also receive additional allowances including:
Utilities Appointed Plumbers Allowance - $67.01 per week
On Call Allowance - applicable on call allowances as per Award
Locality Allowance - Dependent on location and dependants
Tool Allowance - $32.63 per week
Utilities Operations Retention Payment - $1,500.00 (conditions apply)

Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
