Permanent, Full-Time                   36 hours, 4 days/week                  $76,034- $83,067 + Super        Rose St

 
JOB DESCRIPTION
Support the delivery of Council’s Environment Restoration Plan through the implementation of on-ground bush regeneration and habitat restoration works. Working under the direction of the Team Leader Bush Regenerator, you will undertake a range of environmental maintenance activities including tree planting, weed control, herbicide application, rubbish and waste removal, seed collection, mulching, watering, and plant replacement. You will operate and maintain relevant plant and equipment, maintain accurate work records, collaborate with contractors and volunteers, and contribute to environmental restoration projects across Council-managed bushland areas. The role requires a strong commitment to workplace health and safety, environmental best practice, and the protection and enhancement of natural areas.

ABOUT YOU
The Successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate II Conservation and Ecosystem Management (previously Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management) (or equivalent qualification)
  • Current Class C Driver's License
  • AQF3 accreditation and experience in chemical handling, storage and application
  • Demonstrated experience in bush regeneration and environmental restoration works
  • Sound knowledge of native plant identification, particularly Western Sydney's Threatened Ecological Communities and Cumberland Plain vegetation
  • Ability to identify weed species and implement effective weed control techniques using industry best practice
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience supervising and working with volunteers and community groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), ethical workplace practices, and diversity and inclusion principles.

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
