Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent role of Operations and Technical Officer, for its Civic Centre Team.
The Civic Centre is a multi-purpose facility that offers state of the art technology, services and functionality and attracts visiting shows, conferences, meetings and events. The Civic Centre team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continued growth trend in events in the Broken Hill community.
Reporting directly to the Civic Centre Coordinator, you will provide operational and technical support to the Civic Centre and broader organisation to ensure the success of conferencing, business events, gala dinners, community events and performing arts activities of Council and the community.
Job Description
Suitable applicants require understanding, competence, knowledge and skills in Live Productions; including stage production, sound mixing and stage lighting systems, maintenance and contractor management, bar operations, event logistics, commercial electrical codes, and ordering and maintaining of consumables levels. You will have mature and proactive communication skills and be proficient in the use of computer software, be a supportive team member, show flexibility and adaptability to respond effectively to changing priorities, customer needs, and operational requirements and have a proven ability to independently manage your workflow and take a proactive approach to your work.
As Council facilities are open seven (7) days per week you may need to be available for work Sunday to Saturday, where required. Penalty rates apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award.
