Civil Design and Survey Officer (HR 35/26)

About the opportunity 

We’re seeking an experienced Civil Design & Survey Officer to join our Technical Services team and play a key role in the planning and delivery of municipal infrastructure and capital works projects across the Shire.

In this hands-on role, you’ll provide civil design, drafting, surveying and technical advice to support the delivery of roads, drainage, carparks, paths and other essential community infrastructure. You’ll work closely with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and in line with legislative and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities 

• Deliver detailed civil design, drafting, surveying and cost estimates for capital works projects
• Provide technical advice and review designs for new and renewal infrastructure
• Coordinate and manage consultants and contractors, including on-site supervision
• Support the delivery of the annual Capital Works Program
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and WHS requirements

What You’ll Bring 

• Qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying or a related discipline (Diploma or higher)
• Demonstrated experience in civil design and surveying, ideally within a local government environment
• High competency using civil design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Site Design or similar)
• Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, legislation and WHS requirements
• Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

• Full-Time, Continuing (76 hours/fortnight)
• EA Level 6/7 ($86,504 - $101,397 per annum)
