About the
Role
As our Commercial Infrastructure Manager, you'll provide strategic commercial
oversight across Council's infrastructure and capital delivery activities. This
includes managing key portfolios such as the Stewart Island Electricity Supply
Authority (SIESA) and Council's forestry assets, while leading procurement,
contract management, and risk functions.
Reporting to the Group Manager – Capital and Infrastructure, you'll drive consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across commercial practices, ensuring Council's infrastructure investments are financially sound, safe, and future-focused.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee commercial operations for SIESA and Council's forestry portfolio, including asset management and SQE compliance.
· Lead procurement, contract management, and risk functions, embedding best practice across the group.
· Provide strategic financial and commercial advice to support infrastructure planning and investment decisions.
· Build organisational capability through mentoring, training, and development of commercial tools and frameworks.
About You
You'll bring:
· A qualification in commercial accounting, economics, or business, with relevant applied experience.
· At least five years' experience in a commercial leadership role, ideally within infrastructure or capital delivery.
· Proven expertise in asset management and lifecycle planning.
· Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
· A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusive decision-making.
