Taitara Mahi – Digital Engineer (Cloud)

At Hastings District Council, technology plays a vital role in connecting our people and our community. We’re building a modern, secure, and collaborative digital workplace — and we need an experienced Digital Engineer (Cloud) to help make it happen.

This technical role will lead the design, optimisation and security of our Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms. You’ll help shape how Council work, collaborate and deliver services every day — ensuring our systems are current, secure, and seamlessly integrated.

What you’ll do

• Lead Council’s Microsoft 365 ecosystem — Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID — delivering a cohesive, collaborative workplace.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in endpoint management, device security and hybrid cloud services.
• Ensure staff have access to reliable, secure, and intuitive tools that make work simpler and smarter.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues, vendors and stakeholders to evolve Council’s digital infrastructure and network connectivity.
• Share your expertise through mentoring, documentation and championing best practice across IMBT.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years managing cloud or digital workplace environments.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint and Exchange Online.
• Strong knowledge of switching, routing, wireless and connectivity management.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud integration and endpoint security (EDR/XDR).
• A proactive, service-focused mindset and passion for modern workplace innovation.
