Finance Leader to lead a team of financial professionals in ensuring Council maintains its financial sustainability through effective management of Council's financial resources. You will provide strategic financial advice in the delivery of projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the community's wellbeing.

The coordination of the organisation's annual plan and budget, deliver trusted management reporting, and provide high-quality financial and procurement advice that supports informed decision-making and value for money outcomes.

The Role:

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the organisation's financial planning, reporting and procurement functions are accurate, compliant and forward-focused. You will work closely with divisions and business units, translating complex financial information into clear insights that support strategy, accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibility

  • Coordinate and present the organisation's Annual Plan and Budget in line with strategic priorities and legislative requirements.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual management reports, incorporating financial and non-financial performance indicators.
  • Provide high-quality strategic financial and procurement advice to support organisational decision-making.
  • Drive enhanced value-for-money procurement outcomes through strong analysis, insight and collaboration.

Skill & Competencies:

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting or related discipline is essential
  • CA/CPA qualified essential
  • Experience of both financial and management accounting streams
  • Experience managing a team is essential
  • Strong technical accounting ability
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
