Our client, a well-established Engineering firm in Tauranga is seeking an experienced Finance Manager
The Role
This is a part-time position Mon-Thurs (32 hours per week), although we need someone with a little flexibility during busy periods
Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, payroll processing, and expense management
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
Prepare and present monthly staff costs, CAPEX budgets, and cash flow forecasts to management
Reconcile bank statements and financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Assist in cost analysis, inventory valuation, and financial planning
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT filings, and industry-specific financial reporting standards
Maintain and update accounting software and financial records, ensuring data integrity.
Support audits, liaise with external accountants, and implement internal financial controls.
Monitor financial risks, advise on cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making
Track and report financial KPIs, providing feedback to management for continuous improvement
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration
Experience in Engineering or a similar multi project-based business
Proficient in financial software
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory accounting and financial compliance
Ability to prepare and present financial reports
Strong organisational and communication skills
Must have strong IT skills
