About the Role
Right now, we have some great permanent opportunities - we are looking to fill various Host positions (Pou Tiaki) to join our Walter Nash Centre Team. Below are the shift patterns of our vacancies:
Vacancy 1, 40 hours - Tuesday to Saturday: 1.30pm-10.00pm
Vacancy 2, 40 hours - Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday 10.00am – 6.30pm, Monday & Tuesday 9.00am – 5.30pm
Vacancy 3, 32 hours - Tuesday and Wednesday: 9.00am – 5.30pm, Friday and Saturday: 10.00am – 6.30pm
Vacancy 4 & 5, 32 hours x 2 - Friday – Monday 9.00am – 5.30pm
Vacancy 6, 24 hours - Monday 10.00am – 6.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 9.00am – 5.30pm
Vacancy 7, 24 hours - Sunday & Monday 1.30pm - 10pm, Saturday 9.00am – 5.30pm
Vacancy 8, 24 hours - Monday 8.00am – 4.00pm, Tuesday and Sunday 10.00am – 6.30pm
Vacancy 9, 16 hours - Friday & Saturday 10.00am – 6.30pm
In this role, working in both the Stadium and the Library, you'll be responsible for day-to-day Library activity including assisting in running programs and in the Stadium, transporting and setting up equipment such as netball goals, floorball rinks, futsal goals, and volleyball nets across multiple courts. You'll also assist in organising meeting rooms by moving tables and chairs and setting up table tennis tables every Thursday night. Your tasks will include cleaning all courts and bleachers, mopping spills, and preparing for major events like Hutt Fest and Wellington Lego, which require extensive set-up of carpets and stages. With a focus on the sport, event and library activity here at the Centre, there is opportunity to work alongside our community to create and deliver programmes and events.
The purpose of this position is to deliver customer-centric services that are responsive to the community's needs, optimise our spaces for community use and increase awareness of and engagement with community regarding council wide services.
