Are you an experienced civil construction professional ready to take the next step in your career?

We’re looking for a Leading Hand – Construction to join our team and play a key role in delivering the Shire’s capital works program.

Reporting to the Coordinator Works, you’ll lead a small team, coordinate day-to-day works and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

About the role

• Lead and support a small, motivated works team
• Assess and plan jobs and coordinate daily works
• Direct works safely and efficiently
• Operate an excavator and other plant as required
• Help develop the skills and performance of team members
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation
• Complete basic business administration and job-related documentation

Job Title: Leading Hand Construction

Location: Margaret River, WA

Employment Type: Continuing, Full-Time

Salary: Negotiated (IA Level 5/6)

Key selection criteria

• Advanced working knowledge in road construction and maintenance. Including; final trim construction grading and winter/summer maintenance grading operations.
• Extensive previous experience in the construction and maintenance of civil infrastructure assets, including techniques and standards.
• Established leadership, people management, time management and budget control skills.
• Proven detailed knowledge and understanding of quality control techniques and their application.
