As a Maintenance Program Officer, you will be assisting to develop, implement and monitor proactive maintenance programs for water and wastewater assets, including mains, services, valves, hydrants, water and sewer pump stations, reservoirs and other associated infrastructure. You will also be developing maintenance and operation plans and checklists for all water and wastewater assets.
Term: Permanent, Full-time
Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight
Pay Level: $3,245.40 to $3,454.36 per fortnight (Level 4), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading
In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.
Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

About the Department
The Water and Wastewater Department works within the Infrastructure, Assets and Projects Directorate and delivers on the water and wastewater obligations of Council, whilst providing a high level of customer service to the community. Council’s Water Team delivers the essential services of water and wastewater (sewerage) to the Southern Downs community. Water services start at the source including the treatment and pumping of water, maintaining the network and providing water metering services. Wastewater services start with the property connection and includes maintaining the sewer network, managing pump stations and delivering wastewater treatment services at facilities across the region.

- Actively seek information and performance data on infrastructure or service issues that may assist in development of reactive and preventative maintenance programs;
- Identify and work with the supervisor to implement opportunities to automate maintenance activities and asset management practices; and
- Proactively liaise and collaborate with the water and wastewater treatment, distribution and capital works delivery teams for input in development of long-term maintenance programs for water and wastewater assets.
What You Will Need
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- The legal right to live and work in Australia
- REQUIRED LICENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A Class C (car) licence or greater is required in this role;
- Previous experience in operations and maintenance of Water and Wastewater assets; and
- A person in this position will need to hold a current certificate for Working in Proximity to Traffic Awareness Parts 1 & 2,or have the ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in operations of water and wastewater assets, including pipeline, pump stations, reservoirs and treatment plants
- Experience in the management of consultants and contracts
- Demonstrated ability to use computer programs and systems, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel
- To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
