Murray River Council is seeking a passionate and proactive Road Safety Officer to join our Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead road safety initiatives that make a real difference to our communities across the Murray River and Edward River Council areas.
Working closely with Transport for NSW, Council teams, community groups, schools, businesses and emergency services, you'll deliver evidence-based road safety programs that promote safer behaviours and help reduce road trauma across our region.
About the Role
As Road Safety Officer, you will coordinate and deliver local road safety programs across both Murray River Council and Edward River Council. You'll work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate behavioural road safety initiatives aligned with Transport for NSW priorities and the Local Government Road Safety Program.
This position is employed by Murray River Council and works across both the Murray River and Edward River local government areas, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on road safety outcomes across the region.
This role combines project coordination, stakeholder engagement, community education and strategic planning, providing an opportunity to create meaningful change and improve road safety outcomes across our communities.
You'll also support Council's heavy vehicle governance functions, working with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and internal stakeholders to ensure road safety and compliance considerations are met.

Salary & Benefits
Salary ranging from $72,987 - $81,745 (depending on qualifications and experience) plus, Superannuation.
