Team Leader - Portfolio Delivery

Mō te tūranga | About the role

• Portfolio Management – monitor risk, implement project governance, manage reporting systems, and ensure benefits are realised across all programmes.

• Reporting – present the updated directorate work programme to regular Portfolio Governance Group meetings.

• Programme Planning - contribute to long-term and annual plan processes.

• People Leadership – build a high-performing team culture, provide coaching and mentoring.

Mō te tangata | About you

• Have experience in portfolio, programme and project management.

• Highly skilled in budgeting, planning and risk management.

• Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to foster collaboration.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience

• Relevant degree qualifications in transport planning, policy or environmental management.

• Project management qualifications.

• Applied experience in working with the Land Transport Management Act 2003 and Local Government Act.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team within a local government environment.

• Regional Transport Connections is responsible for regional transport planning and managing delivery of the Waikato public transport network (bus, rail and community transport services).

• The Portfolio Delivery Team leads ongoing programmes such as Total Mobility, Community Transport and Road Safety alongside strategic projects such as Te Huia, Waikato’s transition to national ticketing and bus contract renewal processes.
