Digital and Technology partners with business units across Council to deliver secure, integrated and customer-focused technology solutions. The team supports a broad program of work including enterprise applications, system implementation, automation, data and reporting improvements, and service transformation initiatives.
 

About the Position

The Technical Business Analyst supports the successful delivery of Digital and Technology projects across the City of Monash by leading business analysis activities, translating business needs into clear functional and technical requirements, and supporting solution design, procurement, implementation, testing and adoption.

Working closely with the Projects team, business stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors, the role will document current and future state processes, undertake customer journey mapping, identify improvement and automation opportunities, and support data, integration and reporting requirements.

The role will contribute to key initiatives such as the new payroll system, Bookings system, customer experience platforms, enterprise applications, system integrations, automation, smart city initiatives, data and reporting improvements and business process optimisation.
 

Key Focus Areas

Business Analysis

• Requirements elicitation, functional and non-functional documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria and traceability

Process and customer journey mapping

• Current and future state process mapping, customer journey mapping, pain point analysis and service improvement opportunities

Project delivery support

• Solution design support, procurement inputs, implementation readiness, governance artefacts and project handover

Data, integration and reporting

• Data migration, integration requirements, reporting needs, system dependencies and business validation

Testing and adoption

• UAT planning, test scripts, defect triage, training material, transition to support and post-implementation review

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst supporting digital, enterprise system, integration, automation or transformation projects
• Strong ability to elicit, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria and traceability
• Experience mapping current and future state processes and customer journeys to identify service gaps, user needs and improvement opportunities
• Practical experience supporting UAT planning, test execution, defect management, business readiness and transition to support
• Understanding of data migration, integration, reporting, privacy, cyber security and governance considerations in enterprise technology projects

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in business analysis, information systems, digital transformation or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience
• Experience working in technology projects, preferably in a government, local government or complex service delivery environment
• Current Victorian Driver Licence
• Satisfactory National Police Check
• Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
