Asset Planner - Traffic & Active Transport

The Role

We are looking for an Asset Planner for Traffic and Active Transport to Join CBCity. Support us with the Rolling Capital Works Program and work through the Project Management Office and Framework. Work within a team and help support the Rolling Capital Works Program with council assets such as footpaths/shared paths, cycleways, pedestrian/shared bridges, bus stops and street furniture.

The position is Temporary (up to 12 months) Part-time (3 days per week), with the view to review it at the end of this period

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Support planning and delivery of the Rolling Capital Works Program, including project briefs, traffic processes, and compliance with standards.
• Provide technical oversight through design review, procurement participation, data collection, and expert advice on infrastructure and development applications.
• Maintain asset-related policies, modelling, and management plans, and contribute to prioritisation and condition assessments.
• Coordinate consultations, grants, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across departments, community groups, and external agencies.
• Handle customer requests, prepare reports and presentations, support other units, and promote customer service and continuous improvement.

You will have

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or in related field/other tertiary qualification, all with considerable (2+ years) Traffic Engineering experience
• Understanding of Transport for NSW (RMS) Guidelines, Australian Road Rules, Australian Standards and Austroads and experience in traffic and transport management, and road safety
• Class C Driver Licence
• WH&S Construction White Card.
• Understanding of Transport for NSW (RMS) Guidelines, Australian Road Rules, Australian Standards and Austroads and experience in traffic and transport management, and road safety.
• Sound skills in report writing and correspondence
• Understanding of the community consultation, assessment and prioritisation of traffic needs
• Familiarity with computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, Ms Project, GIS applications, AutoCAD and an understanding of traffic modelling software such as SIDRA Intersection 6 Network
• Familiarity with investigation, strategic planning, prioritisation and design of related assets
• Understanding of asset management principles
• Experience with project management
• Experience with the preparation of project briefs, budgets, construction plans, specifications, BoQs and contracts
• Understanding of relevant Acts, Regulations, Legislation, Guidelines, Codes and Council Policies.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $104,465 (Grade H, Step 1) Per annum (Pro Rata) + 3.5% CLA + 12% super.Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
