Role Overview

The role of Cleaner involves working collaboratively within a small team to ensure the cleanliness and safety of designated areas. This position requires a strong commitment to following safety protocols, especially regarding the handling of chemicals. As a Cleaner, you will play an essential role in maintaining our operational standards.

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment across Council offices, accommodation quarters (in some service locations), and other designated Council facilities. This role ensures all areas are presented to a high standard and supports the health, safety, and comfort of staff, customers and visitors.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of chemical handling and workplace health and safety principles.

• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.
• Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Education Requirements

• Chemical Handling Certificate (desirable)
• Current First Aid Certificate (desirable, depending on remote location requirements)

Other Requirements

• Criminal History Check (issued within the last 3 months)
• Current Working with Children’s Clearance (Ochre Card)
• A valid driver's license
• Ability to travel to remote Council facilities as required
• Willingness to wear PPE and follow all WHS requirements

Salary & Benefits
