at Blacktown City Council
Full TimeJob No: BC3643
Location: Blacktown, NSW
Lead with purpose. Shape progress for a growing city.
Leadership at Blacktown City means more than managing teams. It is about making decisions that support a growing city and helping Council deliver services the community relies on every day.
As a Finance Business Partner, you work closely with managers across Council to support sound financial management and informed decision-making. You prepare project, program and service budgets, contribute to Council's annual and long-term budgets, monitor monthly performance and investigate major variances. You provide practical advice that helps managers understand the financial impact of operational and project decisions.
Day to day, you prepare monthly management reports and quarterly budget reviews, develop financial commentary for management and Council reports, and provide ad hoc analysis on specific issues. You contribute to project costings, service pricing reviews and activity-based costing, while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reports and systems.
You also support, train and coach managers and staff in responsible financial management. Your work helps maintain financial discipline, supports the long-term sustainability of Council services and provides the information leaders need to make confident decisions.
This role suits a collaborative and analytical finance professional with a degree in Accounting, budget experience in a large and complex organisation, and strong communication skills. In return, you gain the opportunity to apply your expertise in meaningful work, supported by the stability, flexibility and career development opportunities offered by one of NSW's largest councils.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
an entry level salary commencing at $2,257.27 per week
a 35-hour working week
access to Council's flextime arrangement
12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
ongoing training and development support
access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
Our commitment to safety
Blacktown City Council is committed to safety. We have introduced alcohol and other drug testing at the pre-employment phase, and via a series of random and cause testing.
We are a child safe organisation that supports and promotes the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children.
