Mechanic Diesel Fitter

Flinders Shire Council is seeking suitably skilled, experienced and qualified candidates for the role of

Mechanic / Diesel Fitter.

Mechanic / Diesel Fitters will be responsible for providing both proactive and reactive maintenance across

Council’s light and heavy plant/fleet.

As a representative of Council, demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to a high level of service and

continuous improvement in the best interest of Council and the Community are essential.

The position is classified as a Level C10 – C7 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C)

Award – State 2017.

The hourly rate for this position is $34.47 – $45.68 depending on skills, qualifications and experience and in

line with Council’s Over Award Payment Policy. Overtime, allowances and other penalty rates may also be

available.

This role is based at Council’s Works Depot in Hughenden. While the workshop generally operates between

6.00am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, flexibility to travel throughout the Shire and to operate outside of

standard business hours may be required in order to repair and maintain Council’s plant and fleet assets

located at project sites.
