The Program Manager - Roving, Council Services Delivery is responsible for strengthening the capacity, capability and performance of Council Services operations across multiple remote Aboriginal communities. Working closely with Regional Managers, Council Services Supervisors and local teams, the role provides operational leadership, mentoring and technical expertise to enhance workforce capability, improve service delivery performance, and support consistent service standards and sustainable community outcomes. The position also provides specialist operational support and temporary leadership coverage where operational gaps, workforce challenges or service delivery risks arise, ensuring municipal, commercial and community support services are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, funding agreements, Council plans, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) is a local government authority covering an area over 282,000 Sq. kilometres. CDRC builds sustainable communities through traditional local government services such as waste management, road repair and upgrades, and community services (Community Safety, Children’s Services; Youth, Sport and Recreation, Aged Care) in 12 communities to the North of Alice Springs: Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala and Yuendumu. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged and over 80% of the population is Aboriginal.
