The Shire of Ashburton is seeking a proactive and community-focused Ranger to join our team in Paraburdoo. This is a hands-on, community-facing role where no two days are the same.

This diverse role involves animal management, public space patrols, law enforcement, and community education. You’ll also support emergency management and help maintain safety across the Shire. This is a fantastic opportunity to build strong relationships with the local community while delivering essential services that make a difference.

We’re looking for someone with: 

• Experience in animal handling and operating 4x4 vehicles
• Strong communication and administrative skills
• Familiarity with relevant legislation and local laws
• Ability to work independently in the field while ensuring regular and open communication and a strong culture of trust and teamwork
• A current C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
• A recent National Police Clearance
• Ability to obtain necessary accreditations, etc. (e.g. animal handling, firearms)
• Completion of Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2 is desirable, but not essential.
