About the Role

This position contributes to the maintenance and development of the Shire’s coastal and natural reserves and playground infrastructure. In this role you will:

  • Complete general inspections, monitoring, maintenance and construction of coastal, reserve, public open space and playground infrastructure.
  • At times work with or supervise small works teams or contractors.
  • Installation of general coastal infrastructure and implementation of coastal restoration and rehabilitation works in coastal reserves.
  • Operate a range of small plant and equipment including chainsaw, posthole digger, hand tools etc.

This is a full time position, 85 hours over a nine day fortnight.

About you 

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:

  • A trade qualification and/or demonstrated experience in undertaking construction and coastal and/or reserve infrastructure projects and works.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and lead works programs.
  • A demonstrated understanding of construction and maintenance techniques and plant maintenance requirements.

Salary: $86,637.68 (including overtime) per annum
