• Salary: Band 7 $106,557.18 - $118,949.67 + RDO + superannuation

The opportunity

As the Team Leader Sport Facilities & Activation, you'll play a key role in helping the Hobsons Bay community access high quality sport and recreation facilities, programs and services. Leading a small team, you'll oversee facility management, club partnerships, policy implementation and community activation initiatives that encourage participation in sport and recreation while supporting positive community outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and manage the Sport & Recreation team, including supervision of two officers
• Oversee the allocation, booking, permitting and utilisation of sport and recreation facilities
• Manage sport and recreation tenancy agreements and stakeholder relationships
• Negotiate and resolve sporting club and community facility matters in line with Council objectives
• Implement policies, programs and continuous improvement initiatives that increase participation in sport and recreation

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualification in Recreation, Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong knowledge of sport and recreation industry trends and community sporting club operations
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing staff
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving, report writing and communication skills
