About the role

The City of Salisbury is seeking a motivated and reliable Turf & Irrigation Team Member to join our Parks & Landscape team within City Infrastructure.

Reporting to the Coordinator Turf & Irrigation, you will contribute to the maintenance, repair and installation of irrigation systems, while helping deliver high-quality turf and landscape services across the City. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will undertake a range of irrigation, pump, turf and park maintenance activities to ensure our public open spaces are safe, attractive and well maintained.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Maintain, repair and install irrigation systems and associated components.
• Operate and monitor irrigation controllers and pump systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation faults.
• Undertake turf and landscape maintenance activities.
• Operate plant, equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Complete maintenance records and work documentation.
• Raise defects and maintenance issues as identified.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
• Assist with training and coaching of team members where required.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service.

About you

You are a hardworking and safety-focused team player with practical experience in irrigation maintenance and turf management. You take pride in the quality of your work, communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, and can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

You will also have

• Certificate qualification in Irrigation, Horticulture or a related field.
• Current South Australian Driver's Licence.
• Significant experience in irrigation installation and maintenance.
• Experience working with irrigated public open spaces.
• Experience delivering turf maintenance services.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate.
• Experience with centralised irrigation control systems (desirable).
• Irrigation auditing experience (desirable).
• Restricted Plumbing Registration (desirable)
