The opportunity

As a Team Member Parks Maintenance, you'll help keep Hobsons Bay's parks, gardens and open spaces looking their best. Working as part of the Parks and Open Space team, you'll undertake a variety of horticultural and maintenance activities, operate plant and equipment, and contribute to safe, high-quality public spaces that the community can enjoy every day.

What you’ll do

• Carry out parks and horticultural maintenance including mowing, planting, weeding, mulching and garden care.
• Maintain park assets such as playgrounds, furniture, fences, paths and landscaped areas.
• Operate and undertake routine maintenance of plant, machinery and equipment.
• Complete safety documentation, follow safe work practices and identify workplace hazards.
• Record work activities digitally and provide excellent customer service to the community.

What you need to succeed

• Trade Certificate in Horticulture or relevant horticultural experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining a range of light and heavy machinery.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality parks and open space maintenance.
• Confidence using mobile devices and digital systems to manage work activities.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a medium rigid truck endorsement.

Pre-Employment Requirements 

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check. Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License, with the ability to obtain a medium rigid truck endorsement.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
