Trade Labourer - Bridges

The Details:

Work as part of Council’s dedicated Bridge Maintenance team and play a key role in delivering operational bridge maintenance activities alongside a crew leader.

You will apply your knowledge and skills to a variety of labouring duties specific to bridges and timber structures, including:

• Replacing timber components such as deckboards, girders, joists and handrails
• Undertaking minor concrete patching and repair work

In addition, you may be called upon to support other maintenance teams, contributing to the broader outputs of the Operations department.

About you

Ideally you'll have proven experience in a similar role and a background working with timber structures. You'll also have strong communication skills, the ability to adapt to basic technology processes and the physical ability to perform manual tasks safely. 

In addition to the skills and experience mentioned, you must also possess: 

• A current Medium Rigid (MR) class truck licence or above 
• Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement) 
• Certificate III in Civil Construction Bridge Construction and Maintenance (desirable)
