We are searching for a motivated and reliable Trainee ICT Support Assistant who is passionate about technology and driven to provide excellent customer service. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and maintaining the Council's communication and technology systems.

Key Responsibilities

Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

  • Provide level 1 ICT support (resetting passwords and troubleshooting basic issues like software installation problems or connectivity issues) and manage the internal helpdesk queue.
  • Assist with training, hardware and software installation and maintenance requirements.
  • Liaise with Council Officers over phone or remote connection.
  • Keep Council officers informed of request progress up to point of resolution or escalation.
  • Perform basic hardware and software upgrades and maintenance.
  • Assist with the deployment, relocation, installation and configuration of desktop and mobile computing devices and peripheral devices whilst under supervision.
  • Manage stock levels of consumables, spares, and replacement equipment. Assist with Asset Management of all IT Equipment.
  • Assist Team members with other tasks or project related work as required.
  • Ensure ICT equipment is kept tidy, labelled and easy to find in the ICT build room.
  • Assist with the packaging and disposal of E-Waste and recording details for our records.
  • All assigned duties and allocated tasks are under the direction and supervision of other ICT Support Staff.
  • Willingness to work out of hours as required.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to undertake and satisfactorily complete relevant course of study to the essential requirements.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, providing customer service.
  • The ability to provide level 1 ICT support, including password resets and troubleshooting basic software or connectivity issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work methodically and troubleshoot problems.

Renumeration
Full time employment, working 70 hours across a 9-day fortnight. Salary from $44,746 per year (from 18 years of age) + 12 % super in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State Award.
