Join City of Moreton Bay as a Waste and Resource Recovery Education Officer, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As a Waste and Resource Recovery Education Officer, you will lead the development and delivery of community education initiatives that promote waste minimisation, recycling and responsible resource management. While working closely with schools, residents, local businesses and internal teams to build awareness, drive behaviour change and support Council's strategic sustainability objectives, you will also:
Due to the nature of this role you will need to be willing and able to occasionally work outside normal working hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.

About you
You will bring comprehensive knowledge and hands‑on experience in delivering waste and resource recovery education programs, supported by a strong understanding of waste minimisation strategies and the waste and resource management hierarchy. Your communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation - are a real strength, enabling you to engage confidently with diverse audiences including schools, local businesses, community groups, and residents.
You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using a range of digital tools to support program delivery, reporting, and community engagement. With excellent time‑management abilities, you balance competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and program outcomes.
Additionally, you will hold a Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence,
