With support from Rio Tinto, the City of Busselton are offering an exciting opportunity for a 2025 school graduate to join the Youth Services team in a full time (38 hours per week) 12 month fixed term traineeship, commencing on 25th of February 2026.

Reporting to the Youth Development Supervisor, you will assist the Youth Development team with administrative and operational activities such as; creating social media content, organising events and activities, working with our local youth and providing administrative support to the Supervisor. In addition, you will complete an approved qualification of a Certificate II or higher in either Community Services, Events, Business or another relevant certification that ties in with the work you will be completing with the Youth Services team.

To be considered for this role you must reside within the City of Busselton. In addition, you will have the following:

  • Great organisational skills
  • Ability to complete a wide range of administrative tasks
  • Willingness to undertake job training and study
  • Experience with community groups such as clubs, sports or volunteering groups
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels
  • An interest in organising and promoting activities and events
  • Sound computing skills including the use of Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required

As the successful applicant you will also hold:

  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check  (or ability to obtain one)
  • Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain one when 18 yrs old)
  • Successful completion of Western Australian Certification of Education; or equivalent Certificate i.e. tafe certificate II or III
