The Opportunity
Maribyrnong City Council is seeking a Community Connector to support community engagement activities as part of the Monash University Flood to Flourish program. The Flood to Flourish program is partnering with communities, Councils, floodplain managers and emergency services to develop and test new methods and tools for empowering communities to participate in collaborative flood risk management and community resilience strengthening efforts.
The Community Connector role is suited to someone who lives in, or has strong connections to, the Maribyrnong community, particularly areas impacted by the 2022 flood event, and is passionate about supporting community resilience.
The Community Connector will act as a key link between Council, the Monash University research team and the local community, supporting engagement, participation and relationship-building to ensure community voices and lived experience are centred in the project.
