JOB DESCRIPTION

This role leads the delivery of strategic and operational workforce capability, organisational performance and contemporary HR practice across Council. You will shape and implement workforce planning, organisational design, change management, performance frameworks and workforce analytics that strengthen Council’s ability to attract, develop and retain high‑quality talent.

Leading a team of 2 HR Business Partners and 2 HR Generalists, you will foster strong collaboration within the broader People & Culture team and work closely with Directors, Managers and the Executive Team. You will steer a HR partnering team towards improving workforce performance and organisational workforce goals through considered and tailored initiatives for various workforce segments. As an expert in your field you will provide high‑level advice, drive organisational reform, uplift leaders personnel management capability and deliver innovative people solutions. The role must ensure that Council meets all statutory, industrial and policy requirements

ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:

• Tertiary qualifications relating to Business Management, Organisational Psychology and/or Human Resources.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills, and experience in successfully managing the delivery of a range of people and workplace services, including the capacity to contribute to organisational change.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of contemporary people and organisational development policies practices, issues and trends, and experience in advising, interpreting and applying legislation, awards, agreements and policies.
• A strong commitment and proven experience to initiating, developing, implementing and leading best practice client service initiatives.
• Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and consultation skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
• High level analytical, problem solving and strategic planning skills, with experience in developing solutions to complex issues.
• Proven ability toestablish and monitor priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-volume client focused environment.
• High-level written communication skills and demonstrated ability to critically analyse information and prepare concise reports on strategic HR matters.
• Experience working with and providing technical advice and strategic advice to senior managers regarding people and workplace matters.
• Comprehensive knowledge of people policies and practices, Australian and NSW employment legislation, the state industrial relations system, and WHS with a strong understanding of and commitment to EEO principles, ethical practice, and workplace diversity.
• Class C Drivers Licence
