The Opportunity

Reporting to the Organisational Development Consultant and working in partnership with Chief People Officer and People and Safety Team, this role will support the successful delivery of the Council’s Transformation Program, as part of the Council Wellbeing Plan by partnering with stakeholders to influence and embed leadership capability, workforce skills, organisational culture and employee experience to achieve sustainable behaviour and performance change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, delivery and review of organisational development initiatives that build leadership capability, support culture and improve employee experience.
  • Partner with leaders, teams and stakeholders to identify capability needs and design practical solutions that support team development and functional uplift.
  • Use assessment tools, capability frameworks, survey data and other insights to inform program design, measure impact and support continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and support key people initiatives, including diversity, equity and inclusion and gender equality action planning, so they are embedded in relevant programs and practices.
  • Support change and transformation initiatives by building change capability, providing practical guidance and helping teams work through transition.
  • Lead the end-to-end employee engagement survey process, including planning, survey design, communication, data analysis, reporting and action planning.
  • Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures, resources, tools and budgets that support organisational development, leadership development and employee experience outcomes.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification and relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications and substantial relevant experience in HR, psychology or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrable extensive experience working within an organisational development or related function, within a change initiative environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify trends, assess data and gather relevant insights that can be applied to strategic and transformation programs, with an ability to apply an enterprise lens.
  • Strong intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to apply a coaching mindset to stakeholder engagement and cross functional team interactions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities, while ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
