About the role
 

The City of Salisbury is seeking a motivated and hardworking Feature Landscape Team Member to join the Parks and Landscape team within City Infrastructure.

Reporting to the Coordinator Parks and Landscape, you will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing Council's parks, reserves and landscaped areas. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will undertake a variety of landscape maintenance activities to ensure our open spaces remain safe, attractive and enjoyable for residents and visitors.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Undertake general parks and landscape maintenance activities, including mowing, turf maintenance and weed control.
  • Carry out tree planting, tree watering and pruning activities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of tracks, reserves and landscaped areas.
  • Operate plant, machinery and equipment safely and effectively, including ride-on mowers.
  • Undertake litter collection and general amenity maintenance duties.
  • Raise and report infrastructure defects identified during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, labour, materials and equipment used.
  • Assist with seasonal maintenance programs and landscape improvement projects.
  • Erect temporary signage in accordance with approved traffic management requirements.
  • Contribute to a safe, collaborative and customer-focused team environment.

About you:

You are a reliable and safety-focused team member who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high-quality parks and landscape environments. You have experience operating landscape maintenance equipment, enjoy working as part of a team and are committed to delivering excellent outcomes for the community.

You will also have: 

  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Experience undertaking parks and landscape maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and safe work practices.
  • Experience operating landscape maintenance plant and equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow work programs.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use technology to record and access work information.
  • MR Driver's Licence (desirable).
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent qualification (desirable).
  • Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate (desirable).
  • Experience operating front deck mowers, chainsaws or similar landscape equipment (desirable).
