About the role
 

The City of Salisbury is seeking enthusiastic and engaging casual KinderGym Leaders to deliver safe, fun and inclusive programs for children aged 0-5 years and their parents or caregivers.

Based at one of our community centres in Salisbury, you will facilitate play-based learning experiences that support children's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. This is a casual position with shifts offered based on program requirements. Full training and accreditation will be provided to successful candidates.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Deliver KinderGym sessions in line with Gymnastics Australia KinderGym principles and philosophy.
• Create safe, engaging and inclusive play environments.
• Lead activities that support gross motor skills, fine motor skills, movement, music and physical literacy.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and caregivers.
• Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities and developmental needs.
• Provide high-quality customer service and respond professionally to enquiries.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
• Support the effective delivery and continuous improvement of Kinder Gym programs.

About you:

You are energetic, patient and passionate about working with young children and families. You thrive in a community-focused environment and enjoy creating positive experiences that support children's development through play.

You will also have: 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and caregivers.
• An understanding of child development and play-based learning principles.
• The ability to work independently, show initiative and manage priorities effectively.
• A commitment to safety, inclusion and customer service excellence.
• Willingness to complete Gymnastics Australia KinderGym accreditation and required training.
• Current Working with Children's Check (mandatory) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• Multilingual language skills (desirable).
• Understanding of local government services (desirable).

Eligibility

A current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement, is required.
