Position Title: Payroll Officer – Part-Time

Closing Date: 5 October 2026

Salary: Commencement hourly rate $47.8611 to $52.6449 (Grade 13), plus superannuation.

Employment Type: Part-time (28 hours per fortnight)

Required Working Days: The position will be required to work in line with Council’s fortnightly payroll cycle, with hours worked Thursday and Friday on one week, and Monday and Tuesday on the alternate week.

About the Role

The purpose of the Payroll Officer position is to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient processing of payroll functions for Griffith City Council, in accordance with Council policies and procedures and relevant legislative and statutory requirements. The successful applicant will have a Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or demonstrated relevant experience in payroll processing, including experience with computerised payroll systems. Applicants are required to provide copies of all relevant qualifications, licences and certifications with their application. The successful applicant will also demonstrate sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to payroll, including industrial Awards, taxation and superannuation. Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, effective time management and well-developed organisational skills are essential to the role.
