Moama is experiencing significant growth, with rapid residential expansion and strong development activity across the LGA. As our community continues to evolve, so too does the demand for high‑quality development, compliance and building services.

We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Coordinator Building Services to guide our Building Surveying team and support the Manager Development Services in delivering exceptional certification, inspection and regulatory services to our community.

In this dynamic leadership position, you will:

  • Provide high‑level technical advice on building, compliance and certification matters
  • Lead, mentor and support Building Surveying staff, fostering a positive and high‑performance culture
  • Coordinate workloads, inspect works, and ensure assessment and certification timeframes are met
  • Carry out statutory functions under relevant legislation, including issuing notices, orders and regulatory directions
  • Oversee compliance systems, documentation standards and reporting obligations
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, external agencies, industry professionals and the broader community

This is a senior position suited to an experienced professional ready to influence and support major growth across the Murray River Council area.

What you need to be successful:

  • Tertiary qualifications (Degree or Diploma) in Building Surveying
  • Demonstrated experience and high‑level technical expertise in the building surveying field
  • Strong capability in interpreting and applying the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and relevant legislation
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring staff
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A commitment to customer service and community outcomes
  • A current driver’s licence
  • WHS White Card
