The Opportunity
Are you ready to lead with purpose at the "Tip" of Cape York? The Northern Peninsula Area Regional
Council (NPARC) is looking for a strategic, community-minded Manager – Regulatory Services.
This isn't just a compliance role; it is a chance to safeguard one of Australia’s most geographically
stunning and culturally vibrant regions. Based in our Umagico office, you will be the guardian of our
unique environment, ensuring that strategic land use aligns with the long-term aspirations of our
community.
The Role
As a key leadership figure, you will bridge the gap between legislative requirements and community
prosperity. You will oversee a diverse and essential portfolio:
• Environmental Health & Compliance: Lead high-impact programs for biosecurity (weeds
and pests) and environmental protection.
• Strategic Land Use: Navigate the intersection of Council planning and Native Title matters
to ensure sustainable, compliant growth.
• Animal Management: Oversee the enforcement of local laws, managing diverse livestock
including horses and domestic animals.
• Permits & Licensing: Direct the workflow for building and plumbing inspections,
certifications, and local law permits.
