About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanic to join our Workshop team. 

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing the Shire's diverse fleet of plant, machinery and vehicles, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and available to support essential community services.

Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will use your technical expertise to diagnose faults, undertake repairs and contribute to the efficient operation of the Shire's fleet maintenance program.

This position is full time - 85 hours over a nine day fortnight.

About You 

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:

• Trade qualifications – Plant Mechanic with extensive experience.

• Strong mechanical background including computer diagnostic tool usage.

• Ability to work with limited supervision and to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and operational issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills as trade requires.

• Computer literacy including knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Salary: $120,073.20 (including overtime) per annum ($51.60 per hour plus penalty rates for overtime), plus superannuation.
