Labourer - Traffic Control

Oberon Council is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Labourer (traffic control) to join our team. This hands-on role combines general labouring duties with a heavy focus on traffic management responsibilities to support civil construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work within the Road Repair Team, helping to ensure work sites remain safe, efficient, and compliant with all relevant regulations. The role involves assisting road crews with a variety of physical tasks and supporting the delivery of high-quality road maintenance and repair works.​

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform physical tasks related to maintenance and construction.
• Operate tools and machinery safely and effectively. 
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with other duties as required by the council.

About the role

• Permanent full-time position
• 38 hours per week
• 6:54am – 4:00pm
• 9 day fortnight
• $1,156.89 – $1,342.00​

What we are looking for

• Relevant work experience in a labouring role with a focus on traffic management duties. 

Current Traffic Controller (TC) and Implement Traffic Management Plans (IMP/TMI) certifications, or be willing to obtain them prior to commencement.​

• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, follow instructions and complete assigned tasks. 
• Demonstrated ability to carry out manual, physically demanding labour on a day-to-day basis.
• Class C driver's license.
• White Card
• Previous experience working on road construction projects.
